Meet your therapist

Hi, I’m Khatya! I’m a trauma therapist specializing in developmental and attachment wounds. I see adults who frequently feel stuck, out of control, frozen, and in a repetitive loop they can’t seem to break free from. These patterns often show up at work, in their primary relationships, and with themselves:

  • Delaying or having difficulty carrying out tasks

  • Feeling pressure to achieve or meet high expectations

  • Feeling sudden fear or intense worry

  • Feeling a constant sense of unease

  • Feeling a lack of options or influence over situations

  • Having bursts of anger or blame toward others

  • Experiencing a deep sense of embarrassment or guilt

I approach therapy as a joint effort in creating and building new and different ways of being that are supportive to you as an individual and promote positive change in your relationships.

I weave Attachment Theory, Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR to help process trauma, develop more stability, and improve your relationships with yourself and others. My approach to therapy includes and requires curiosity, compassion, collaboration, trust, and strength in the therapeutic relationship. I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and walking alongside you.

How I help

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy aims to help individuals address and resolve developmental and attachment wounds that are at the root of common mental health and relationship issues. The focus is on building a secure attachment (the relationship) between your Self and your parts.

  • Somatic Experiencing ®

Somatic Experiencing involves gently guiding clients in building resilience to challenging physical sensations and suppressed emotions. This approach helps individuals complete self-protective movements and release trapped survival energy in the body, addressing the underlying cause of trauma symptoms.

  • EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that has you briefly focus on traumatic memories while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, sound from ear to ear, or alternating vibration from handheld units. Over time, this process can reduce the vividness and emotion associated with the memories.
